Mistfall Hunter Tier List
A provisional Mistfall Hunter tier list that ranks launch classes separately for solo, duo, and trio play.
There is no honest single launch ranking for every party size. This provisional editorial tier list, reviewed August 2, 2026, separates solo self-sufficiency from duo synergy and trio specialization. It uses official balance context plus early community observation; it is not an official developer ranking.
How the ranking works
Classes are judged on five practical questions:
- How reliably can the class create a favorable fight?
- Can it survive or reset when the first plan fails?
- How much does terrain or party support change its output?
- Does its utility remain valuable against both monsters and players?
- How demanding is the execution required for a repeatable result?
S means broadly valuable in that mode. A means strong with a clear condition or manageable weakness. B means more dependent on matchup, execution, or teammate conversion. B does not mean unplayable, and individual mastery can outweigh a launch-week band.
Solo tier list
| Tier | Classes | Launch-build reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| S | Mercenary, Shadowstrix | Mobile pressure and the ability to choose or leave engagements are especially valuable without ally cover. |
| A | Blackarrow, Sorcerer, Withered Knight | Each can control a fight, but spacing, terrain, or limited follow-up can create harder solo states. |
| B | Seer | Team-facing utility loses some value alone, so the build must spend more on self-protection and personal conversion. |
Editorial confidence: low to medium. Solo outcomes are highly sensitive to player routing, third parties, and whether a class can disengage after committing. Use these bands as a starting hypothesis, not a character-selection command.
Duo tier list
| Tier | Classes | Launch-build reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| S | Withered Knight, Seer | A partner can immediately convert frontline control or support utility, giving both roles a clearer purpose than in solo play. |
| A | Mercenary, Sorcerer, Blackarrow | Strong pressure and control options become safer when one ally covers the main weakness. |
| B | Shadowstrix | Burst and flanking remain dangerous, but the pair must coordinate timing so the partner is not left in a separate fight. |
Editorial confidence: low. Duo results change dramatically with composition. A coordinated mobile pair may outperform a conventional frontline-support combination even when the general band is lower.
Trio tier list
| Tier | Classes | Launch-build reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| S | Seer, Withered Knight | Full teams have room to convert utility and space control while another role supplies pressure. |
| A | Sorcerer, Blackarrow, Mercenary | Ranged control, picks, and direct pressure all become reliable when the composition protects their operating window. |
| B | Shadowstrix | The class can still decide fights, but synchronized teams punish isolated entries and failed burst windows more consistently. |
Editorial confidence: low to medium. Trio value depends on role coverage and communication, which is why the official balance context for team play should not be collapsed into the solo list.
Class-by-class interpretation
- Mercenary: a flexible pressure choice whose value remains readable across modes. See the Mercenary class guide.
- Sorcerer: gains value when allies preserve casting space and enemies must pass through controlled approaches.
- Blackarrow: benefits from sight lines and teammates who prevent a clean dive.
- Shadowstrix: rewards precise engagement timing; its ceiling is higher than a simple B label suggests.
- Seer: scales with teammates who recognize and use support windows.
- Withered Knight: creates structure for a group but may struggle to convert every opening alone.
Patch and evidence limits
Official announcements are used to identify balance changes and mode-specific context. Community discussion helps surface matchups and pain points, but reports are not treated as measured win-rate data. No public, source-backed class win-rate dataset is used here.
